The primary goals of the AI Open House are to inform University faculty about research in artificial intelligence and machine learning in the Computer Science Department, and to create a dialogue with researchers across campus interested in this space. In hopes of creating a lasting ecosystems of AI connections that will generate future planning proposals, this event will bring together researchers who are interested in AI, machine learning, and robotics and their applications across diverse disciplines.

3:30 - 3:40 p.m.: Swarm robotics — Mike Rubenstein, Assistant Professor of Computer Science, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering, and The Lisa Wissner-Slivka and Benjamin Slivka Professor in Computer Science
3:40 - 3:50 p.m.: Human-aware robots — Han Liu, Associate Professor of Computer Science
3:50 - 4 p.m.: Semantics and machine learning — Larry Birnbaum, Professor of Computer Science
4 - 4:10 p.m.: Machine learning in audio — Bryan Pardo, Professor of Computer Science, and Professor of Radio, Television and Film
4:10 - 4:20 p.m.: Zhaoran Wang, Assistant Professor of Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences
4:30 p.m.: 1-pager planning grant proposals rapid fire and open discussion
