Computer Science Minor

The Department of Computer Science offers minors in computer science for students who wish to develop stronger competence in computer science while pursuing a degree in another field. The minors provide essential knowledge for all computer scientists and exposes students to critical subfields of the discipline.

The minors omit the technical elective and project requirements of the major, and reduce the number of breadth courses to three. Students from both Weinberg and McCormick may complete a minor and the computer science courses required are identical. However, requirements for related math courses differ so they mesh better with the math requirements of the two schools.

Declare the Minor

In order to earn the minor in computer science, students must submit a completed minor declaration form no later than the first quarter of your junior year.  For McCormick - Computer Science Minor Declaration please declare on the McCormick Advising System. For Weinberg - Computer Science Minor Declaration.  Fill out the form and submit to CS Advising.  For more information about the minor in computer science, please contact the Computer Science Department.
