Samir Khuller Named 'Pillar of Computer Science'

The University of Maryland Department of Computer Science recognized Khuller for his significant contributions to the department's legacy

Northwestern Engineering’s Samir Khuller, the Peter and Adrienne Barris Chair of Computer Science, has been named a "Pillar of Computer Science" as part of the University of Maryland Department of Computer Science 50th anniversary celebration.

Khuller was recognized during a gala ceremony at the University of Maryland on October 6. He and four other former department chairs — Victor Basili, Larry Davis, Jack Minker and Satish Tripathi — were celebrated as "Pillars of Computer Science" for their significant contributions that shaped the department's legacy.
