Brenna Argall

Brenna Argall, associate professor of mechanical engineering, computer science, and physical medicine and rehabilitation, will be featured on an upcoming episode of “Mission Unstoppable,” a television show geared toward young girls that spotlights the work of female engineers and scientists in diverse fields. The episode airs at 10 a.m. CST on Saturday, February 27, on CBS.

Argall is an expert in robotics autonomy and applies her work to rehabilitation. A research scientist at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab, Argall leads the Assistive and Rehabilitation Robotics Lab, where she is developing partially autonomous wheelchairs designed to help users with spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) avoid obstacles, navigate routes, and maneuver in difficult spaces. She’s also developing an assistive robotic arm that shares control with the user when performing tasks.
