Description

This course is designed for engineering graduate students who are interested in furthering their knowledge in advanced and emerging methods of engineering design, with the focus on computational design methods covering topics such as engineering optimization, simulation-based design, design under uncertainty, machine learning and artificial intelligence in design, decision analysis and preference modeling, multidisciplinary design optimization, and model validation. The course will emphasize both fundamental theories and practical applications. Students are encouraged to apply the techniques taught in class to the topics related to their thesis work.
