Andnet DeBoer earned dual degrees in Electrical Engineering (B.S.) and Computer Science (B.A.) with a minor in Mathematics from Hope College. He has experience in industrial automation, medical device automation, and consulting. He began exploring robotics at a young age, programming his first LEGO robot at nine and participating in four years of FIRST Robotics. He also completed coursework in mechanics in Germany and studied AI and algorithm design in Singapore. As an undergraduate, he worked on projects from multi-agent robotic systems to a self-playing bass guitar combining hardware and software design.
His research interests include mobile manipulation, robot motion planning, and simulation, with an emphasis on building robotic systems that are safe and effective in dynamic environments.
