Professor Laurence Marks wins the Surface Structure Prize

Laurence Marks wins international award for an outstanding body of work in the field of surface and interface structure.

Professor Laurence Marks

Professor Laurence Marks of the department of Materials Science and Engineering won the International Conference on the Structure of Surfaces (ICSOS) Surface Structure prize for 2017. The prize will be awarded at the International Conference on the Structure of Surfaces during July 23-28, 2017 at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

The ICSOS conference provides a forum to assess the status of atomic-scale and nanoscale structure determination of surfaces, interfaces and nanostructures, and the relationships between such structure and physical and chemical properties. The meetings also serve to highlight the development of new and advanced experimental techniques for structure determination, and of sophisticated theoretical methods for modelling surfaces, interfaces and nanostructures.
