MAT_SCI 461: Diffraction Methods in Materials Science

VIEW ALL COURSE TIMES AND SESSIONS

Description

This course will explain x-ray diffraction and related phenomena in terms of the kinematical, optical and dynamical theories of x-ray scattering. X-ray diffraction, reflectivity, standing waves and evanescent waves will be discussed in a context that leads to an understanding of how these x-ray methods are presently being used at synchrotrons and x-ray tube sources to determine structural properties of materials.
