Schyvinck, a longtime Shure leader and Northwestern Alum, will speak at the December 13 ceremony
Christine Schyvinck (MEM ’99), president, CEO, and chairman of Shure Incorporated, will address Northwestern Engineering’s Class of 2025 at the PhD Hooding and Master’s Degree Recognition Ceremony on Saturday, December 13, at Pick-Staiger Concert Hall.
Since joining Shure in 1989 as a quality engineer, she has held multiple leadership roles across engineering, operations, and global marketing.

Founded in 1925, Shure has developed more than 50,000 different electronics products over the past century. The Niles, Illinois-based company designs and manufactures professional-grade and consumer audio products that include microphones, headphones, in-ear monitors, mixers, digital signal processors, and conferencing systems.
Schyvinck’s leadership has been integral to the steady growth and profitability of Shure. Since becoming president and CEO in 2016, she reduced material costs without sacrificing product quality, dramatically improved on-time delivery, and globalized manufacturing operations. Fostering an innovative, collaborative culture and leveraging Shure’s audio technology expertise is part of her focus.
“Chris exemplifies the kind of visionary, impact-driven leadership we hope our graduates will carry into the world,” said Christopher A. Schuh, Dean of Northwestern Engineering. “We’re honored to have her share insights from her remarkable career at this year’s ceremony.”
Under Schyvinck’s direction, Shure has expanded international operations, boosted sales, enhanced delivery performance, and strengthened inclusive leadership and sustainability efforts.
She serves on various advisory and nonprofit boards, including the Executives’ Club of Chicago and Blessings in a Backpack. Schyvinck also is a member of the MEM Advisory Board at McCormick.
