Prerequisites
MatSci 316-2, MatSci 351-2, or consent of instructor. MatSci 331 and 332 recommended. MatSci 390-1 is a prerequisite for MatSci 390-2.Description
Students will apply a systems design approach to address contemporary problems in materials science and engineering. Using fundamental materials science principles, students implement their own methods and approaches to investigate processing-structure-properties-performance relationships. Students develop core competencies in project management, data collection and analysis, experimental decision making, and technical communication.
