Intro

Welcome to the Endpoint Security Portal for Self-Managed Devices.

This portal is designed to provide owners of self-managed devices the tools and resources needed to comply with the Endpoint Security Standard. The sections below outline the primary control requirements from the Standard.

Asset Inventory

  • An inventory of all Northwestern assets, whether capital or otherwise, must be maintained.
    • McCormick IT is responsible for maintaining the inventory of managed computing systems.
    • Faculty members are responsible for maintaining an inventory of their self-administered devices. See the Asset Inventory page for more details.

Security Configuration Guides

  • The Standard provides clarity on device protection, hardening, and vulnerability management.
  • View guides for your OS: Linux, Windows, macOS.

Attestation

  • Faculty must annually confirm the status and end-user assignments of each of their devices. This is done by ensuring the asset inventory spreadsheet (referenced on the Asset Inventory page) is kept up to date.
