Electrical Engineer for GAIA

Duration

Full- or part-time during academic year, full-time during the summer, for example:

  • 20+ hours per week in Spring (April 26 – May 13, 2020)
  • 40+ hours per week in Summer (May 13 – August 23, 2019)
  • 20+ hours per week in Fall (August 26 – January 6, 2020)

Project Description

For parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), gaia provides a sensors-embedded compression shirt and mobile application for early detection and notification of meltdowns. Can lead to full-time employment.

Stipend

Compensation dependent on experience and time commitment (stipend or hourly wage). For example:

  • Stipend: $500
  • Wage: $20+/hour

Job Description and Responsibilities

  • Passionate self-starter, with proven experience in designing electronics and laying them out with eagle.
  • Soldering experience, and solid laboratory testing experience.
  • Develop wearable smart apparel and watches
  • Assist firmware development for hardware component of product
  • Work on multidisciplinary team to complete the prototype

Skills and Qualifications

  • Working toward a BS/MS in Electrical Engineer, Computer Engineering, or Similar Experience (currently have/working toward)
  • Firmware development experience
  • Eagle PCB multilayer board experience
  • Strong work ethic and team oriented
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
