Biography

As Vice President and Office Director of SmithGroup, an international architecture group with 15 offices across the world, Tim Tracey leads project teams through charismatic and transformational leadership to uncover stories and insights that help guide design and innovation. He is intensely passionate about listening and collaborating with clients to understand their needs and objectives. As a result, Tim’s design solutions are inventive and thoughtful, with a strong emphasis on the integration of space, light and nature. Throughout Tim’s 20-year career, his ability to clearly communicate has been the foundation for his success in executing projects to the highest standards of design and durability. A consummate collaborator, Tim believes that an interdisciplinary team approach is at the heart of designing buildings that enable new experiences.

Tim has been the project architect for projects for The Arts Club of Chicago, Hubbard Street Dance, Museum of Science and Industry, Spertus Institute of Jewish Studies, Williams/Gerard Productions, Advocate Aurora Health (Children's Hospital), Northwestern University (Jacobs Center Renovation), S.R. Crown Hall Interior Renovation, University of Chicago Admin Building, University of Wisconsin, Eau-Claire (New Education Building), Western Illinois University, Argonne National Laboratories, Louisiana State University, and Promega Corportation.
