Science in Society, an initiative at Northwestern that aims to make the community aware of the school’s exciting research efforts, recently held a contest in search of research images that portray both aesthetic beauty and exciting science.
The winners include several images from engineering graduate students, including Mark McClendon and Laila Jaber-Ansari.
“Scientific research often produces beautiful images,” the web site says. “Sharing these images and the advances they represent provides a special opportunity to communicate the importance, interest, and impact of scientific research on society.”
