Nobel-winning experiment enables Fermilab-led quantum network

Prem Kumar, professor of electrical and computer engineering at Northwestern Engineering and director of the Center for Photonic Communication and Computing, is a member of the Illinois‐Express Quantum Network (IEQNET) research team, led by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory.

Quantum technology experiments conducted by Anton Zeilinger, a 2022 Nobel laureate in physics, contributed to the foundational science behind IEQNET, a metropolitan-scale, quantum network testbed.
