CIV_ENV 495-1: Granular Materials for Geosystem Engineering

Description

This course focuses on the characterization and modeling of granular materials relevant for geosystem engineering, such as sand. The topics covered by the course include:

• Characterization of individual particles and particle assemblies 
• Stress analysis for geosystems and geostructures 
• Elastic and plastic deformation models for sand 
• Interaction between sand and pore fluids 
• Failure processes in granular systems
