Professor Petia Vlahovska Elected Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS)

Professor Petia VlahovskaESAM Professor Petia Vlahovska has been elected Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS) due to her outstanding contributions to physics. Professor Vlahovska's is being recognized for her "pioneering work on problems in interfacial flows and soft matter, including the fluid-structure interaction in Stokes flow, the mechanics of biomembranes, and electrohydrodynamics."

The number of APS Fellows elected each year is limited to no more than one half of one percent of the membership.
