Research Interests

Professor Stoll's experience is in the broad areas of product design and development, mechanical systems design, and manufacturing with a primary focus on the interface between product design and manufacturing. His main interest is in the development of engineering design methodologies that help to optimize the manufacturing system as a whole. Current research interests include coordinated part and tooling design, product standardization and modularization strategies, producibility measurement, and conceptual design principles and practices.
