Michelle holds 3 degrees from the University of Illinois (BS Architectural Studies, BS Civil Engineering, and MS Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences).


Michelle founded The Green Facilitator and is a founding partner of UpFront Regenerative Design, where she facilitates strategic planning and integrative design process for organizations seeking to address global environmental imperatives and to create thriving communities.

During her 25-year sustainability career, she has managed certification and integrative process on LEED and WELL projects for small developers, world-class institutions, government, and Fortune 500 companies. Other experience includes energy benchmarking, and co-development of green building ordinances and prototype specifications.

As an educator, she served as USGBC Faculty for 12 years, served as WELL Faculty for 2 years, and adjunct faculty at Northwestern University since 2015.

She was honored with Illinois Green’s first Chapter Leader award and their Emerald Award for Intent to Matter, and she is a member of the inaugural class of LEED Fellows.
