Northwestern IT Inducts Professor Ilya Mikhelson to Inaugural Canvas Hall of Fame

Mikhelson won the award for "Best Use of Lecture Videos/Recordings" in the Fall 2021 Engineering Analysis 1 course

Ilya MikhelsonAt the annual Northwestern Information Technology and the Office of the Provost TEACHx event, Ilya Mikhelson, associate professor of instruction in electrical and computer engineering, was inducted into the inaugural class of Northwestern’s Canvas Hall of Fame. A new award, the Canvas Hall of Fame was created to honor instructors who went above and beyond to create engaging learning experiences for their students using the Canvas Learning Management System during the 2021-2022 academic year. Students from all 12 Northwestern schools submitted nominations.

Mikhelson was honored in the "Best Use of Lecture Videos/Recordings" category for the Fall 2021 GEN_ENG 205-1: Engineering Analysis 1 course. This award recognizes faculty who use Zoom or Panopto to deliver or supplement lecture content in an engaging and, where possible, interactive way.
