“Triple Frame Buffer FPGA Implementation” was featured in the April 2019 volume

Research from electrical and computer engineering undergraduate student James Williams and Ilya Mikhelson, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, was published in the April 2019 volume of the journal Hardware X.

The article, “Triple Frame Buffer FPGA Implementation,” demonstrates a Verilog-based triple frame buffer capable of buffering arbitrary data, such as camera frames, between any two asynchronous processes. The frame buffer modules consume 143 logic elements and use a simple, intuitive design. The paper discusses the overall implementation of the design as well as practical uses such as in a small camera, or for use as an educational tool.

“I am extremely proud of James and the work he has put in,” Mikhelson said.
