  Fostering Diversity: Lessons from Recent Events and Making Change Happen

  During a tumultuous year, society has revisited the roles that race, gender, class, disability status, and other identities play in shaping experience and opportunity. Within most engineering disciplines, stark demographic differences continue to exist. Join us for a panel featuring some of the most prominent Black engineers in the nation for a discussion on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in engineering. Topics will include ways to support and expand DEI in tech; actions students and faculty can take to be effective allies; ways to build connections between communities and higher ed; how recent events have reframed conversations around race; and policy changes that can make engineering more equitable.
