Welcome to the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering

A wide range of societal applications, including energy, information processing, and healthcare, depends on electrical and computer engineering. To meet these needs, our faculty in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering performs groundbreaking research and prepares the next generation of engineers for work in digital design, computer hardware and architecture, robotics, microprocessors, and software design.

At both the graduate and undergraduate levels, our students explore their passions as they study and contribute to advances in a variety of areas: solid-state electronics, optics, lasers and digital signal processing to communications, networks, robotics, and parallel computing. As they work alongside top researchers, students develop new electronic devices, design novel information processing algorithms, and integrate hardware and software to create cutting-edge systems.
