Four ChBE Graduates Named to AIChE “35 Under 35” List

Camille Bilodeau, Blaise Kimmel, Alexis Prybutok, and Andrew Rosen were recognized for their significant contributions to the field of chemical engineering

Four graduates of the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering were named on the American Institute of Chemical Engineers’s (AIChE) “35 Under 35” list.

Camille Bilodeau (BS/MS ’15), Blaise Kimmel (PhD ’21), Alexis Prybutok (PhD ’22), and Andrew Rosen (PhD ’21) were recognized for their significant contributions to the field of chemical engineering and to the AIChE community. From academia to industry, the award highlights those who have shined in their career and have made impactful changes to their university, company, or institution.

“It is wonderful to see Camille, Blaise, Alexis, and Andrew receive this well-deserved recognition,” said Danielle Tullman-Ercek, James N. and Nancy J. Farley Professor in Manufacturing and Entrepreneurship and chair and professor of chemical and biological engineering at Northwestern Engineering. “Each has built an impressive career, and together they demonstrate the breadth of impact our graduates can have as researchers, educators, and leaders in chemical engineering.”

Bilodeau is an assistant professor of chemical engineering at the University of Virginia, Kimmel holds the Umit S. Ozkan Professorship in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at The Ohio State University, Prybutok is an assistant teaching professor of chemical engineering at the University of Washington, and Rosen is an assistant professor of chemical and biological engineering at Princeton University.

The four will be honored with the other engineers listed during the AIChE Meeting, scheduled for Nov. 8-12 in Minneapolis. Nominees can have made contributions through any of seven broad categories: bioengineering, chemical and materials, education and outreach, energy and environment, innovation and entrepreneurship, leadership, and safety.

Bilodeau and Rosen were honored in the chemical and materials category, Kimmel in bioengineering, and Prybutok in education and outreach.
