Once Accepted

Please pay the non-refundable $750 tuition deposit by the date in your admissions letter. Your place in the incoming class is not secure until the deposit has been received. Students risk losing their space in the upcoming class if they do not pay their deposit in a timely manner. If you are unable to pay your deposit promptly, contact the program office at 847-491-7399 or msai@northwestern.edu.

Accepted Student Checklist

  • Pay $750 non-refundable tuition deposit by the date included in your admissions letter.
  • Send in official transcripts for all schools attended within six weeks of accepting your offer of admission (if you are still completing your undergraduate degree, please wait until you have your final transcript to send in).
    • E-Transcripts can be sent to msai@northwestern.edu
    • Mailed transcripts should be sent to:

  • Activate your Northwestern email account upon receipt of NetID activation code.
  • Complete the Entrance Health Requirements for Non-Healthcare students as mandated by the State of Illinois.
  • If eligible and interested, apply for federal loans. Visit the Evanston Office of Graduate Financial Aid for more information.
  • International students: Begin the student visa process once you activate your NetID
  • All students are required to have health insurance. Domestic students can choose to enroll in the Northwestern student health insurance plan (NU-SHIP) or waive their coverage by demonstrating alternative coverage. International students are required to enroll in NU-SHIP. If you do not take any action, you will be enrolled in NU-SHIP and you will be responsible for the annual premium.

  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is no longer required for Non-Healthcare Undergraduate, Graduate, Continuing and Professional programs, but is still required for Medical and Healthcare-related programs.
  • Remember to check your Northwestern email regularly for announcements from the program and university.
  • In June you will receive an invitation to the program's New Student Canvas site through your Northwestern email. The Canvas site will have information about orientation, registration, and much more.
