MLDS 410: Generating Business Value with Analytics

VIEW ALL COURSE TIMES AND SESSIONS

Description

Today’s businesses have gone “data-crazy,” investing tremendous resources in the quest for better, quicker information and deep, actionable insights.  Many believe that data is the “new oil,” fueling today’s industry and mission-critical functions.  But those who succeed in this data-rich environment do not engage in analytics simply because of the volume and velocity of data available.  Rather, today’s analytically successful firms are laser-focused on how data can generate business value.

This class will help MLDS students:

  • understand the link between analytics and business value
  • develop strategies to use analytics to solve important business problems,
  • recognize differences in analytical decision-making in varying business contexts, and
  • help businesses achieve their goals by becoming a more effective analytics practitioner and communicator
