Thank you for your interest in the Predictive Science and Engineering Design (PSED) program. This page contains information about application requirements and deadlines.

Deadline & Eligibility

Application deadline: End of spring quarter

For the best chance of admission, all application materials should be submitted before recommended submission deadline. We will review all applications received before then and a decision on your admissibility to graduate study in this program will usually be made within two weeks after your file is complete.

Application Requirements

Before applying to the PSED program, please read the submission requirements detailed below.

  1. The completed application form.
  2. Research Statement. A description describing the candidate's research interest and plan related to the mission of PSED, not to exceed 500 words.
  3. A curriculum vitae (CV) and/or resume including education, professional experience, awards, presentations, publications, and professional memberships.
  4. Letters of endorsement from co-advisers. Letters from each of the co-adviser should address the following points: the qualities that set this student apart from others; the significance of the scholarly research related to the mission of PS&ED.
  5. Northwestern transcript. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable and may be obtained from CAESAR.
