MLDS 431: Analytics for Big Data

Description

This course covers a variety of topics and tools in big data. Most of the topics are about MapReduce with a big emphasis on Spark. Key-value pair databases and noSQL concepts are also covered in detail.

The course objectives are

1. Understand distributed computing and databases
2. Implement sophisticated algorithms in MapReduce
3. Use Hive
4. Use NoSQL database Hbase
5. Use Spark
