The Civil and Environmental Engineering Distinguished Lecture Speaker Professor Henry Petroski spoke on " Success and Failure in Engineering: A Paradoxical Relationship". Professor Petroski is the Alexkandar S. Vesic Professor at Duke University and has published 16 books starting with "To Engineer Is Human: The Role of Failure in Successful Design" (1985) to "To Forgive Design: Understanding Failure" (2012).
