Sophie Sisson Wins Thornton Tomasetti Foundation Scholarship

Northwestern's Sophie Sisson wins The Thornton Tomasetti Foundation (TTF) Scholarship. Sisson is an undergraduate senior in Civil Engineering from Dallas. She has completed both the Architectural Engineering and Design Certificate and the ISEN Undergraduate Certificate. After graduation in June 1, she will be going to the University of Texas at Austin to pursue an MS in Structural Engineering.

The scholarship offers $10,000 of financial support for an individual who endeavors to make an impact on the structural design of buildings. The goal of the scholarship is to help the student gain an appreciation of the integration of structural engineering and architecture. The winners must be senior level students in a master's degree specializing in structural or architectural engineering and must be nominated by a department chair. The scholarship award is based upon candidates' career goals, academic accomplishment and demonstrated interest in the integration of engineering and architecture.
