"Engineering" Food

Jovanca Smith CookingStudents, faculty, and alumni socialized over cooking.  The event started in 2011 when the Northwestern University ASCE (NU ASCE) steel bridge team asked Professor Karen Chou to teach them how to make a few dishes they really like. About half dozen students gathered at Ken Fuller's (BSCE 2011) apartment and learned to make appetizers such as spring rolls, pot-stickers, and crab ragoons. Back by popular demand, over 20 students, faculty, alumni, and family members gathered at Cohen Commons on a Saturday morning to learn how to make spring rolls, dumplings, crab ragoons, and fried rice; and enjoyed the food and conversation afterwards.  The event this year was sponsored by the Office of Provost's Student-Faculty Interaction Grant.
