Achenbach Elected to Korea National Academy of Science

Professor Jan D. Achenbach Elected Honorary Member of the National Academy of Science, Republic of Korea

Jan D. Achenbach, Walter P. Murphy and Distinguished McCormick School Professor Emeritus, was elected Honorary Member of the National Academy of Science, Republic of Korea. The National Academy of Sciences(NAS), Republic of Korea, was inaugurated on July 17, 1954, and entrusted with the duty of promoting the development of sciences, and of facilitating the  development of national culture. Membership is selected for the Humanities and Social Science Division and the Natural Science Division. The Academy has a membership ceiling of 150.  Currently, the Academy has 11 Honorary Members.
