Prof. Rich Finno Awarded 2018 Ralph B. Peck Award

Prof. Rich Finno was given the 2018 Ralph B. Peck Award this month. This award is given by the Geo-Institute of ASCE and includes delivering the annual Peck lecture, which will be held in Orlando at the Geo-Institute Congress in March 2018.

Rich Finno was chosen for this award “for his innovative research on the analysis and design of urban excavations using novel modeling approaches and innovative monitoring technologies, the immediate advancement of excavation design practice and for his voluntary commitment to the geotechnical community.”

In selecting Finno for this award, the committee particularly noted that his work has completely transformed the state-of-the-art practice in the field of excavation systems.
