McCormick professor Josh Leonard testifies before a House SubcommitteeOn June 29, Professor Josh Leonard joined a distinguished group of scientists to testify before the House Committee on Science and Technology's Subcommittee on Research and Science Education in Washington, D.C. Intended to shed light on the interdisciplinary research sometimes termed "new biology," the hearing addressed the current state of biological research and its potential to address fundamental grand challenge problems related to energy, the environment, biomaterials, and agriculture.
