Tyler Smith is a MSAI fellow affiliated with the Northwestern Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute. In addition to graduate study, he is pursuing his medical degree at Northwestern. He completed his undergraduate studies at Brown University in applied mathematics-biology which cultivated a profound appreciation for computational approaches to biological systems.

At the intersection of medicine and AI, Tyler's enthusiasm lies in the transformative potential AI holds for optimizing cardiovascular patient outcomes. His vision encompasses furthering his medical training while maintaining a discerning focus on data-driven solutions and pioneering novel methodologies empowered by AI. Beyond his research ambitions, Tyler draws from his teaching background developed within AmeriCorps to champion the dissemination and integration of AI tools within medicine. His goal is to not only contribute to the advancement of healthcare through innovative research but also to facilitate the broader adoption of AI-driven technologies.
