Once Accepted

Please return the Intention to Register form by the deadline listed in your acceptance letter. Once received, you will be sent instructions on how to pay the non-refundable $750 tuition deposit. Your place in the incoming class is not secure until both items have been received. Students risk losing their space in the upcoming class if they do not confirm their intent to register in a timely manner. If you are unable to return yourIntention to Register form and/or deposit promptly, contact the program office at 847-467-7527 or msai@northwestern.edu.

Accepted Student Checklist

  • Return the Intention to Register form.
  • Using instructions provided (following receipt of Intention to Register form), logon to pay $750 non-refundable tuition deposit. Deposit may also be paid by check or money order and mailed to:  Northwestern University, McCormick School of Engineering-MSAI Program, 2233 Tech Drive, Room 3206, Evanston, Illinois 60208. Students may also pay by wire transfer (contact the program office for instructions).
  • Official transcripts should be sent to the address above within six weeks of accepting your offer of admission. You may also have e-transcripts sent to msai@northwestern.edu .
  • Activate your Northwestern email account upon receipt of NetID activation code.
  • Complete the Entrance Health Requirements for Non-Healthcare students as mandated by the State of Illinois.
  • If eligible and interested, apply for Federal Loans. Visit the Funding + Loans page or visit Northwestern University Student Financial Services Office. Please note that the MSAI program is under the McCormick School of Engineering and is not a program within The Graduate School.
  • If you were in the process of completing your degree when you applied, have your degree-awarding institution issue an official copy of your final transcript to the Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence program.
  • International students should begin the student visa process after returning the of Intention to Register form.
  • Use your NetID to get your Wildcard!

Students are eligible to enroll in the student NU/Aetna health insurance plan on a voluntary basis. To enroll, students must complete the application and submit payment during the first quarter of enrollment. Students who do not elect coverage in the first quarter of enrollment will not be able to enroll in health insurance thereafter.
