Puhua Ye is a Master of Science in Machine Learning and Data Science student at Northwestern University. He earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Data Science and Business Analytics from the University of Rochester. As a research assistant at the University of Rochester Medical Center, he led end-to-end projects applying large language models, natural language processing, and multimodal learning to public health research involving more than 217,000 Twitter/X posts and 72,000 Instagram images.

His experience spans data collection, annotation design, model fine-tuning and evaluation, statistical analysis, and the development of reproducible research workflows. He also built a local-first model auditing platform with human review and release safeguards. Outside his research, Puhua developed a LangGraph-based multi-agent financial research prototype that coordinates specialized fundamental, technical, value, and news analysis agents through Model Context Protocol tools.

Puhua is particularly interested in agentic AI, large language model systems, and machine learning engineering. He hopes to build reliable and interpretable AI systems that combine technical rigor, business understanding, and meaningful real-world impact.
