Steven graduated from Vanderbilt University with a B.A. in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, with minors in Economics and Piano Performance, where he built a strong foundation in algorithms, machine learning, statistical modeling, and quantitative finance. His interests sit at the intersection of data science and financial markets, with a focus on turning complex market data into actionable insights.
As a Data Scientist Intern at Huaxi Securities in Beijing, he worked across data engineering, machine learning, and quantitative research — automating fund performance reporting pipelines, developing predictive models for commodity futures, and designing backtesting frameworks to evaluate portfolio construction strategies.
As an MLDS student at Northwestern University, he is excited to deepen his expertise in scalable machine learning systems and apply them to quantitative finance and real-world business problems.
