People / Students / Class of 2027

Zhiwen graduated from University of Minnesota with a B.S. in Statistics in 2026. His academic background gave him a strong foundation in statistical modeling, machine learning, and programming. Throughout his undergraduate studies, he worked on projects involving credit card default prediction and multivariate cardiovascular risk modeling, which strengthened his interest in applying data science to real-world problems.
In the summer of 2026, Zhiwen joined Brembo in Shanghai as a Data Analytics Intern, where he worked at the intersection of data analysis and business decision making. He built an interactive full-stack dashboard to transform sales and inventory data into performance insights, and developed an APAC pricing model to support business decisions. This experience deepened his interest in using technical tools not only to build models, but also to generate insights that support practical applications.
Zhiwen has also been involved in leadership, outreach, and volunteer activities. He values collaborating with people from different backgrounds and perspectives. At Northwestern, he looks forward to deepening his understanding of machine learning and data science, growing technically and professionally through the program.
