People / Students / Class of 2027

He graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen with a major in Statistics, where his academic training and extensive research and project experiences developed a strong foundation in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data analysis. Through hands-on work with diverse datasets, he has developed practical experience in building predictive models, designing analytical approaches, and translating data into meaningful insights.
His research experiences span a range of applications, including infectious disease modeling, urban traffic analysis, biomedical prediction, and metabolomics. In his work on COVID-19 transmission modeling, he developed parameter estimation algorithms and conducted regional transmission analysis using statistical modeling and simulation in R. He also applied machine learning methods including LSTM, Gaussian Process, KNN, logistic regression, and random forest to problems in traffic forecasting, Alzheimer’s disease prediction, and stroke prediction. These experiences strengthened his ability to approach real-world problems from both statistical and machine learning perspectives.
In addition to research, he has participated in multiple data-driven projects involving data preprocessing, model development, statistical analysis, and team leadership. His internship at China Construction Bank provided practical exposure to financial technology, software systems, and data processing workflows. Moving forward, he is particularly interested in Data Science, Data Analytics, and Natural Language Processing, and hopes to further develop his technical and problem-solving skills through the Northwestern MLDS program and apply them to real-world challenges in the U.S. job market.
