Yicheng Pan is a graduate student in the Master of Science in Machine Learning and Data Science program at Northwestern University. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics and Statistics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he developed a strong foundation in statistical modeling, econometrics, machine learning, and data-driven analysis.
His academic interests focus on applying machine learning and statistical methods to solve real-world problems. During his undergraduate studies, he worked on projects involving predictive modeling, large-scale data analysis, and causal inference, including applications of machine learning algorithms for customer behavior analysis and business decision-making. His professional experiences in e-commerce analytics and international market research further strengthened his interest in using data to understand complex systems and generate actionable insights.
Yicheng is interested in developing practical machine learning solutions that bridge technical methods with business applications. Through the MLDS program, he hopes to deepen his expertise in machine learning, data engineering, and analytical methodologies while preparing for a career as a data scientist focused on building impactful data-driven solutions.
