Manav Dixit graduated from UC San Diego with a Bachelor's in Data Science. As a Data Analyst Intern at Silicon Valley Bank, he built a data dashboard from scratch that connected to the bank's internal database and automated queries to flag missing transactions for the Financial Crimes division. For his senior capstone, he worked with a local nonprofit, using clustering techniques on census data to identify emerging hubs of economic activity and help inform public transit planning in the region.
After graduating, Manav spent two years studying philosophy in India, living at a residential institute focused on ethics, logic, and community life. In his free time, he worked on independent research projects, including one looking at the link between climate change and wildfires in California.
Manav is excited to join Northwestern's MS in Machine Learning and Data Science program to build on his background in financial analytics and data science. He's looking forward to sharpening his technical skills and working on projects that connect data to real-world impact.
