Lize Chen graduated from Boston University in 2026 with a Bachelor of Science in Data Science and a minor in Business Administration and Management. Lize is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Machine Learning and Data Science at Northwestern University. With interests in both technology and business, Lize enjoys using data to understand problems, improve processes, and support informed decision-making.
Lize has gained experience across the automotive industry, government, and academic research. At Schaeffler Group Greater China, Lize helped the purchasing department adopt data and AI solutions, automate recurring tasks, and improve access to information during a major organizational transition. Lize also worked with the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs to improve employee reporting and supported a historical research database at Boston University by strengthening its data quality.
Lize has also explored applications of data science in healthcare, digital engagement, and consumer behavior. As a Break Through Tech AI Fellow at the MIT Schwarzman College of Computing, Lize applied machine learning to study crowdfunding performance and develop practical strategies for organizations. Through these experiences, Lize has developed a strong interest in creating technology that responds to real-world needs. At Northwestern, Lize looks forward to expanding their knowledge, learning from people with different perspectives, and continuing to develop thoughtful solutions that create meaningful impact.
