Xueyun Bai graduated from New York University with a double major in Economics and Mathematics and a minor in Data Science. Throughout her undergraduate studies, she developed a strong interest in applying quantitative methods to understand complex real-world problems. Her interdisciplinary background provided her with both a rigorous foundation in mathematical reasoning and a deeper understanding of the economic and behavioral forces that shape data.
Through academic and professional experiences, Xueyun has explored data science across a variety of applications. She has worked on large-scale data analysis and modeling projects, evaluating data quality and coverage across hundreds of variables while contributing to the development of multi-level scoring and analytical frameworks. She has also participated in quantitative research and market analysis projects, using statistical methods and programming tools to process longitudinal datasets, identify meaningful patterns, and assess model performance. These experiences gave her hands-on exposure to the full data science workflow, from data collection and feature engineering to model validation and interpretation, while reinforcing her passion for transforming data into actionable insights.
As a student in Northwestern University’s Master of Science in Machine Learning and Data Science (MLDS) program, Xueyun hopes to further strengthen her expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, and artificial intelligence. She is particularly interested in leveraging advanced analytical techniques to address complex challenges across industries and looks forward to combining technical rigor with practical problem-solving to create impactful, data-driven solutions.
