Mehwish Ahmed graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles in June 2025 with a B.S. in Data Theory, where she built a solid, proof-based foundation in applied mathematics and statistics, with coursework spanning foundational statistics to modern machine learning methods. Throughout her final year, she interned as a Machine Learning Engineer at Hifinite Health, building OCR pipelines and patient risk models to support clinical decision-making. Outside of client work, she independently designed and deployed RentVsBuy.ai, a full-stack financial decision-support tool that combines Bayesian modeling with retrieval-augmented reasoning to help users think through rent-versus-buy decisions.
As an MLDS student, Mehwish aims to build a stronger technical foundation in machine learning and data engineering, with the goal of working in finance or consulting after graduation. She's motivated by the idea that the right data-driven tools can make hard decisions easier for the people who need to make them.
