Haitian graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics, where he developed a strong foundation in mathematics, machine learning, and data-driven methodologies. As an undergraduate, he built a chess engine that integrates NNUE with Monte Carlo Tree Search; despite limited computational resources, the engine achieved an approximate ELO rating of 1800 against Stockfish.
During his internship at Yonyou Network, Haitian developed five interactive dashboards using Java, SQL, and Power BI to visualize hospital budget data. In addition to data visualization, he has gained hands-on experience in applying large language models (LLMs) to real-world problems. At YNet, he built an AI-powered resume screening system capable of both rule-based filtering (e.g., by educational background) and semantic matching based on inferred project requirements. He also designed a backend monitoring system for LLM services, enabling both minute-level and daily-level anomaly detection on key metrics such as token usage and conversation volume, with drill-down capabilities by dimension to identify root causes of abnormal behavior.
Haitian is skilled in Python, SQL, machine learning, and data analytics. At MLDS, he looks forward to deepening his expertise and applying it to impactful real-world challenges.
