Yinghong graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Economics at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Yinghong started her academic journey with a fascination with data-driven solutions for business problems. Through internships and relevant coursework in data science, she has discovered a passion for data analysis and machine learning, embracing the challenge of addressing complex and multifaceted problems. Her coursework in Computer Science solidified her programming abilities in C++, C, Python, Java, R , SQL, and Haskell, and her Economics and Statistics background deepened her understanding of Calculus, Discrete Structures, Probability, Financial Market, and Time Series. During her undergraduate studies, Yinghong further cultivated her technical expertise through substantive internships and research engagements. In University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, she performed image recognition for autonomous obstacle-avoiding robot vacuum in public area such as airport or train station using YOLO model in Python. Also, she conducted research regarding Time-Domain Signal Analysis for Physical Layer Signal Processing.
She is excited about the MLDS program. She hope to deepen her technical skillsets in machine learning, NLP, data engineering, and deep learning. Her goal is to integrate advanced technical competencies with meaningful business impact in the fields of ML and AI.
