Yujun Sun earned dual degrees in Business and data science from the University of Rochester in 2025. He published two paper related to deep learning at University of Rochester. He has interned in Kwai(Kuaishou) Technology as a machine learning engineer, focusing on both recommendation systems and LLM workflow design. His TARNet-based subsidy model increases the Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) by 5 percent. His Decision Tree based Item Selection Model discovers the commodity that was not being promoted, which increased the Daily GMV by 10 percent in the field of Hotels and Traveling. His LLM–assisted review system helps frontline reviewers improve efficiency, saving more than ten person-days of manpower every day across multiple business scenarios. Due to his remarkable contributions at Kwai(Kuaishou), he was granted a long-term remote internship as a special exception.

As a data scientist, Yujun is especially good at modeling, and sensitive to all data. He also realized the importance of efficient communication for working in tech companies. He was used to collaborating with non-technical colleagues, and he knows how to translate complex models into actionable insights that business teams can understand and leverage. This ability to bridge the gap between technical depth and business practicality has made him an effective team player in interdisciplinary environments.

Looking ahead, Yujun is eager to contribute to data-driven innovation in industry and research, with a focus on developing AI systems that are both technically robust and socially impactful.
