Erica Liu is a passionate data science professional with a strong interest in transforming complex data into actionable insights. She graduated with a B.S. degree in Statistics and Economics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with highest distinction. Her studies focused on data analysis, machine learning, and econometrics.
Erica most recently interned at Voloridge Investment Management, where she developed Python-based data quality checks to validate equity bar records and applied machine learning techniques to uncover market structure patterns. Prior to that, she worked at Jones Lang LaSalle, conducting REITs data analysis and building dashboards for insights using Python and Tableau. She also gained experience at Ipsos and UIUC ATLAS, contributing to market research and analytics projects.
Through these experiences, Erica has cultivated a rigorous analytical mindset and a strong foundation in Python, SQL, machine learning, and data visualization. At Northwestern, she looks forward to deepening her technical skills and exploring impactful applications of data science in the finance or tech sectors.
