Pippa is from Park City, Utah, and graduated from Tufts University’s School of Engineering with a degree in Data Science, magna cum laude. While at Tufts, she worked as a Teaching Fellow in the department of Computer Science for the Data Structures and Algorithms course, as well as pursuing a minor in French, for which she was awarded the Frederic J. Shepler Memorial Prize. After graduating, she worked in Boston at Aetion, a pharmacoepidemiology statistical software platform and scientific services company, acquired by Datavant in July, 2025. Starting as a scientific analyst, Pippa implemented multiple post-approval safety studies for FDA approval for the COVID vaccine, as well as additional studies focusing on cancer treatment outcomes for patients with small cell lung cancer and metastatic breast cancer. Pippa’s work included a study of oncology clinical trial emulations in multiple real-world healthcare datasets, which was published in the American Journal of Epidemiology. Promoted to the role of Product Manager on the technology team, Pippa managed a scrum team of ten engineers based in Aetion’s Barcelona offices, and led the development of a major dataset exploration tool. Her dual experience as both a scientist and a product manager allowed her to more effectively guide product prioritization from both a user and a technical feasibility perspective, including the release of an AI-powered support bot to smooth user onboarding to the platform. She is looking forward to furthering her technical ability and practical application of data science to cross-disciplinary fields in Northwestern’s MLDS program. Outside of work, Pippa likes to ski, play in community softball leagues, and bake!
